After finishing reading, the girls looked at each other and forced out a wry smile.
“It looks like a lot of work,” Waree said plainly.
“Can’t agree more with that,” Maysa added.
The reactions made Wisana laugh amusedly. He was expecting that these two would not like the cooking system so much. Well, it could not be helped, since girls these days did not care about cooking. (Waree might do, but about the taste...)
“I think it’s interesting, though,” Manoch commented.
“Don’t you think?”
“Apart from increasing our stats, I think these recipes will definitely make a good sale, too. Just like how we patent the item formulas, bro.”
“(Sigh) I was curious about why you were interested in this kind of thing. Of course, it’s about money.”
“Well!” The bright merchant cried out right away. “What else is more important than money, Na? This system just debuted. It means that we have the chance to patent the recipes, before anyone else, right? And Na’s skill is very outstanding, so I guarantee you that this will get us rich!”
The excitement over money made everyone sigh wearily.
“I think you better stop daydreaming.” Maysa cut him off with a drawling voice.
“Why?”
“Well,” she started, pushing the screen to Manoch. “I just think that your new system won’t make a good sale, because the food has a weakness that will cause the full condition. So, the good things about it will turn bad, since it will slow us down in a fight. That’s why we can only eat it in limited quantities.”
“What? So, the players don’t need to carry food with them on a trip, just eating in town is enough, right? Or, if they want to carry, they’ll just carry a couple of pieces. That sucks!” Manoch concluded, scratching his head disappointedly when he found out that making a sale on the food market would not be as easy as he thought.
“Also, there are almost two thousand recipes like this, we’ll never know which one will affect which ability. If we have to mix the ingredients to find out, that will just be a waste of our money to spend on them.” Maysa continued.
“You’re right.” The accurate brain like a calculator of Manoch started running fast before he realized that Maysa’s words made sense. Because after the new patch updating, the ingredients suddenly seemed to be more expensive, while many days ago, the tools like pans, kitchen knives, pots, stoves, and seasoning spices were almost as useless as house decoration.
Well, the Pride market changed every day. Sigh, this was so boring.
“You’re right, May. The food market isn’t really worth investing in.” The young man finally admitted it before putting down his rice bowl on the ground and sighed.
“It’s not completely useless though.” Maysa’s words made him pause. “Wisana, just try cooking different menus. I believe that you could unlock a new recipe every time you cook since your skill is so good.”
“That’s true, Na.” Waree supported.
“And when you unlock a nice one, then we patent it with the association of food. It’s still not too late to do so, right?”
“Yeah, I will.” Wisana smiled broadly.
“But I’m afraid it’ll be too late. Until then, those pro unlockers will get it all.” The young merchant argued lazily. The skinny figure got up, then stretched back and forth for a moment hopelessly.
“You’re so greedy.” When he got insulted, Manoch started to look for his supporter immediately.
“Do you think I’d get rich if I’m not greedy?! Right, bro?! Anyway, do you still have some bread crumbs or paddy left? I haven’t fed those birds yet.” He said, pointing his chin to the two big birds tied to a tree around there. One of them was light yellow like the sun, and the other was ivory white.
Yes, they were the same birds they used to pull the carriage to Aeneas.
“I have some bread, but you’re sure they can eat it?” Wisana asked.
“Yes, they can. They eat everything the players eat.” After that, Wisana handed two big loaves of bread to him. The merchant smiled happily, before running off to feed the birds that were screeching and flapping their wings gratefully as well.
“So, you really bought those birds, huh.” The deep voice said.
“At least we need them for the trip,” Maysa replied.
“The trip? Where are we going?”
Maysa let out a soft sigh before she looked at the questioner.
“Not we, but it’s you and Nam.”
“Huh?!”
The troublemaker yelled. He looked at Waree for an explanation, but she just replied to him with a slight smile.
“What do you mean by that, May?”
“Yesterday, after Thada left, Nam and I discussed how to deal with those hunters. And I could come up with something, actually. But our levels are way too low from theirs. So, to confront them right now might not be a good idea.”
He nodded to her words. Maysa already told him about last night, so Wisana acknowledged the threat from the hunters well. And he could imagine how scary they could be.
“Where do you want Nam and me to go? But isn’t it easier for them to attack us if we split now? Maybe it’s better to just stick together.”
“No, it’s not, Na.” Waree interrupted. “With our levels now are not enough to fight them. I used to fight them a couple of times when I was in the U.S.; these guys are not easy to beat. I know they use some cheating programs, but their skills aren’t poor either, or the GMs would have caught them a long time ago. Even Thada can’t trace them. That’s why I don’t want to take the risk of fighting them now.
“You fought them before?” The brother gasped. “And you lost?”
“No, I didn’t lose, but I didn’t win either. Because they retreated quickly when they were about to lose. That was why we lost them.”
The golden-brown eyes rolled left and right for a moment before they stopped at Maysa.
“Are they really that good, May?”
“Yeah.” The short reply made the one who always had a smile on his face make a serious face immediately.
“Those guys want to attack me to steal these items, right?” His large hand was held up to show the shining shiver bracelet and the leather necklace he was wearing.
“Yes,” Maysa said monotonously. “They want your Element and the Darkness.”
The confirmation made Wisana let out a huge sigh. Just like he thought, these items would bring disaster to the guild!
“Don’t worry. It’s not just you who pulls them to us. My illusion gun does, too.”
She added knowingly, getting a slight smile out on the good-looking face of her buddy.
“So, what’s the plan you have in mind?”
“Well, I have plenty of them. And I think this one is the safest for us.” She finished, then brought out her window. “Right now, there’s a new system to specifically support guild members. I’m going to explain it to you briefly.”
Wisana nodded.
“It’s called EXP hoarding system.”
