Chapter 40: Class Quest Begins Part IV “Yes?” The man turned back to her.
“Well, you haven’t paid the registration fee.”
“Oh, right. I forgot to tell you that you needed to pay the registration fee, too.” Maysa acted like she was just reminded.
“Is that so? How much is it?” Seeing the opportunity, the red-haired girl was acting affected again. Maysa creased her lips, knowing so well what the other girl was up to. Then she shook her head, feeling bored. Wisana could see it too, but he did not want to be rude to the operator.
“It’s 1,500 coins. But it’d be great if I could get to know you better after you finish with the quest, mister Wi-sa-na,” she said as she was leaving her mouth slightly open, looking so sexy.
The golden-brown eyes caught Maysa’s, asking for her help. The little one let a displeased mood out her nose hardly before she slammed a bag of coins on the counter.
“Here’s 1,500 for the registration! And after the quest, my father will not have time to get to know anyone, because he has to take me on another quest! That’s it. Now, excuse us.”
She finished speaking before she smashed on the taller one as an order for him to walk away now. And the man gasped, confused as to how and when he had become a father. But still, he did what his daughter asked by walking out of there.
As for the operator, she was left gasping with bulging eyes.
“Aw, the taken hot one again. I didn’t know that was his child. Oh no, a teen dad!”

“May, since when have you become my daughter?”
“Shut up. I said that because I was so fed up with her!” Maysa snapped, face looking red, and this made Wisana laugh even harder. It was too cute. First, they were mistaken as siblings, and then they became father and daughter now.
“Then what are we doing here? I thought we needed to go rent that horse thing.” Wisana asked with a serious tone, even though his laughter was still leaking out.
Now Maysa and he were standing on the less crowded corner of the street. There were only a couple of stores around here.
“I’ve already booked the carriage and the birds. Don’t worry.” Maysa shook him off as she was bringing out her pink window.
“Why are we here, May? Isn’t the rent shop on another corner?” he asked, sounding confused as he was checking the map on his screen, too.
“Yes, it is. But I’m waiting for someone here.”
“Waiting for who?”
“I’m waiting for that Ma...”
“Hey, bro! Na!” She did not finish because a clear, cheeky voice came from behind them, drawing their attention to it. Then they saw the tall slender figure of the same merchant guy smiling as he was running up to them so delightedly.
“Hey, Manoch. Did you finish your business with the association of item developers?” Wisana greeted with a smile, patting on the other shoulder slightly.
“Yeah, I did.”
“Yeah? How did the patenting go? How much did you get for the butterfly effect’s copyright?” Hearing the question, the smiley one suddenly frowned in a bad mood. Manoch’s shoulders hung low, his face looking bitter.
“What’s wrong?” Wisana asked, worried.
“Don’t ask about it right now. I’m really not in the mood. I’ll tell you about the details later. But where’s May?” The young merchant asked like he could not wait to change the subject.
“I’m right here, Ae.”
The small voice replied from the back, making the addressed one look around with confusion.
“Where? May, was that you? Where are you?”
“Can you please look a bit lower?”
Manoch raised his eyebrows, but he looked down as he was told. And when his eyes caught the five-year-old girl with her hands on her waist, snarling at him from below, he almost burst out laughing. But luckily, he reached out his hands to cover his mouth in time.
“Hey, May, you’re still wearing those ears? You actually like them, huh? See? I told you that this look suited you. Not only that it could help you get away from those guys, but also make you look better. You have to thank me for this, alright?”
“Yeah, I do. Thank you so much, Mister Manoch.” She smiled widely as she was drawling the sweetest voice. “Thank you for ruining my life with the stigma that will follow me until the day I die!!”
BOOM!!
As she finished, her tiny fist was sent right into the unguarded area of the tall man in front of her with full force, making the lively face of him pale. He was sitting still on his knees, his hands holding his weakest part, and his pale face starting to look blue with the colic pain. Even Wisana who was watching nearby could not help but whine out the ‘Ouch,’ too.
“W... why’d you punch me in the crotch? ...Even though we’re in the game, it can still hurt, you know.”
“That’s exactly what you deserve,” Maysa yelled. “Do you know how miserable I am to be in the condition that I have to be a little kid all day?! Just me punching you in the crotch isn’t punishment enough!”
“T... this is still not enough...?”
Maysa let out a groan, sounding like ‘Of course not!’, before she turned and walked away, no longer interested in the man.
“Let’s go, Wisana. We’re done here. I was waiting just to punch this guy to relieve my stress.” She spoke decisively, pulling Wisana’s hand to get out of there as she said.
“W... wait. I still have something to talk about with Na. Can I tag along, too, May?”
“No!” She replied right away, putting her hands on her waist as she was staring at him angrily.
“Why?”
“Because you’re annoying, and you are the second-worst troublemaker after Wisana. It’s already troublesome enough to take care of just this guy. If you come, too, I wouldn’t be able to do double duty as a babysitter.”
“But I’m the one who helped you to get away from those crazy fans.” Manoch was struggling to get back on his feet again. He looked at Wisana for help.
“Yeah, by turning me into a child for a whole day?” Maysa snapped.
“But it helped you. Besides, I think that this look suits you.”
“I’ve been yelling about how it sucked, yet you still have the nerve to argue. Stop defending it, or I’ll slap you to the hospital!” And she was actually about to do so, but luckily Wisana grabbed her arm to hold her back in time. He squatted down to be at the same height as his little buddy.
“Come on, May.” He said with a smile. “I really have something to discuss with Manoch. Let him come with us. Also, the carriage that we’re renting is quite large. Won’t you get bored if we travel in it with just the two of us?”
“But...” Maysa was about to protest when she saw Manoch’s annoying smirk, she gasped, looking like she was ready to come at the guy again.
“Look at him! Wisana, don’t take him with us. This guy really gets on my nerves.”
“May.” Wisana drawled his voice gently as he was stroking her hair softly. “Don’t be stubborn with your father. I told you I had to talk with Manoch. If you’re still acting like this, there won’t be a bedtime story for you tonight.”
“You!” Hearing this, the daughter’s face turned red, her feet trampling with anger, she looked up to snap at him, too. But when she saw him smiling so softly, she just could not throw a tantrum at him.
Even though she was pissed at that annoying victory smile from the jerk behind him, she decided to turn away after a long pause. The little one kicked the dust on the ground to express her bad temper as she walked away.
“Jerks!” She scolded as she was pacing out of the alley right away. Her actions were so adorable in Wisana’s eyes that he had to smile knowingly at Manoch, stomach hurting from holding back laughter. Then he helped the glasses guy get up since he seemed to have not yet regained his balance.
“Are you okay? Can you walk?” Wisana asked with a chuckle.
“Yeah, thanks, bro.” He replied, still holding his aching crotch. “How did you do that, though? I’ve known May since we were kids, and I’ve never seen anyone who could deal with her like you do. This is the first time I’ve seen her so tamed.”
Wisana burst out with a loud laugh.
“She’s a person, not a dog. She doesn’t have to be tamed or anything.” The older one retorted amusedly. “But it’s not a big deal. It’s just that I’m good with kids, bro.” The actual reason made the boys laugh before Manoch could be on his feet again, feeling a bit better now.
“So, bro. Where do you have to go for your class quest?”
“Aeneas.”
“Huh?! You have to go that far?!” Manoch’s eyes widened.
“Yeah. That’s why we rent some travel birds. Well, do you still want to go with us?”
“Of course, I do. I have so many things to talk to you about, including the butterfly effect’s details, too.”
“Great. Then we should get going before my daughter gets mad for keeping her waiting for too long.” He said and let out another laugh before they started walking after the tiny figure of a five-year-old girl, even though Manoch was struggling a bit as he walked.
The smooth face of the black-haired man appeared with a delighted smile when he could finally play the game without worrying. He even had a new friend to travel with his party, too. From now on, there would be a lot of fun things for them to do, definitely!
