Chapter 881 - 879 A healer in need
Outside the Soul Temple
"I am looking for these materials. Can I ask someone to help me get them?" A small girl asked.
It seemed as though she was a little girl. She had instead been infected with a weird Qi infection at birth and it stunned her growth at birth.
Although, people have always tried to help her. The materials she always wanted was either something too easy to get or something too hard to handle.
"What are the materials?" One the of Soul Temple guardians asked.
The girl handed the paper to the guardians. Their faces full of absolute fear and uncertainty.
"These materials are not hard to get but not easy to transport either. However, there is a man inside who might be able to help for a little while." The guardians replied.
"Thank you dearly!" She spoke.
She had been re
Immediately, Rex was outside the Soul Temple with the little girl. He immediately knew who the girl was. It was not that she was super famous for being one of the best quest givers, it was that her quest was actually the hardest in the Nine Mortal Realms.
When she asks you for one quest, you end up doing almost twenty without being able to take on any other quest.
The items she gets always either borderline insanity or something that even non cultivators could get a hold of. She was locked within the city unable to leave due to the infection that she has.
Currently, only the Stairway could break that chain. Even with getting her items and the fact that she has indeed cured herself. The Stairway did not want her to leave.
"Well, you must be one lucky little woman to be able to get me to help you." Rex told her happily.
The girl smiled because Rex used the term woman instead of girl.
"My thanks is to the guardians for allowing me to borrow you for a quest. It is simple really I just need these ingredients." She handed Rex the paper.
"Very easy to get and a little bit on the transport side. What makes you want these items?" Rex asked her.
This was part of the quest that would trigger or would not trigger. No matter which way it went, the ultimate quest line always ended in failure of the woman getting her infection cleared.
"I have an infection that caused me not to grow any taller. Apparently, through research these items can be a cure. Although, I have researched for a long time. This is honestly my last hope." She sadly spoke.
She had looked through all kinds of books and scrolls to see if there was any cure or anyway to break whatever hold had gotten to her.
"Well, let me ask you this. Would you be willing to help one of wives out by being their maid?" He asked.
"If it means that I will be able to break this hold. I will do whatever I have to." She spoke truthfully.
Having lived such a live, the woman knew that only there were certain conditions that people could move on in life. If it meant becoming a maid and cleaning shit up like a doll. At least she could break the hold on her.
"Come on then." Rex spoke.
It was not revealed early by people trying to help her questline that only one person managed to break her out of the hold that she had.
Whereas most people only cared about the quests and getting them done. This one quest was about either her heart or the will to break that hold.
No one understood how it happened or the dialogue that transpired to make the quest line end. Somehow, that one person broke the questline by simply taking her with him as a simple concubine.
That alone broke the hold on her but it also made that person bear an unbearable consequence for breaking the hold on her.
He barely managed to make it to the Ninth Realm before he decided to just live in seclusion with his Main Wife and her. No one knows what happened to him afterwards.
Rex had an idea of what happened. The Stairway proved to become what he knew the Srairway was. A chain holding back people ensuring that it gets fed treasures and that nothing else get away.
As the duo appeared on the Seventeenth Floor. She was surprised by how many women were already gathered together.
"Most of these women are my wives. If you choose one you like, I will ensure that you become her maid." Rex told her.
She looked at the women and walked towards Liz. She had a feeling that this person was the one for her and able to break the chains that held her.
