The drone dropped a gasoline bottle near a car on the ground with a thud, and the guards at the door went out to check. A second drone carried a flaming Molotov Cocktail, which upon impact caused a blazing eruption, instantly setting the guard ablaze, and starting to burn the vehicle.

The guard was calling for help while stripping off his clothes; the people inside were unaware of the attack and started to come out to check the situation – some stripping and beating out the flames, others looking for fire extinguishers.

Seizing the opportunity, Maya and Snow Egg retrieved their drones, and by now more people were at the door. Standing 70 meters from the entrance of the Third Hospital, the two raised their silenced M4s and began firing together. Amidst the chaos, three soldiers fell to the ground, and finally, someone realized what was happening: "We’re under attack, under attack."

Maya and Snow Egg continued to shoot until the alarm was sounded about ten seconds later; by then five soldiers within the Third Hospital had fallen. Snow Egg moved first to point C, while Maya aimed for the

Lin Wu, the closest to the enemy, took the opportunity to dash through the 10-meter clearing, but the enemy also had an expert shooter. Not everyone was distracted by Maya’s gunfire, and a righteous bullet struck Lin Wu. He fell to the ground, feeling intense pain in his back. Lin Wu ran forward in pain, with the sound of bullets piercing through the car behind him, one bullet striking directly on Lin Wu’s heel, tearing through the entire sole of his shoe. Lin Wu finally managed to meet up with Little Knife in a sorry state, and Little Knife partly carried Lin Wu as they continued to retreat.

The soldiers from the East Base did not pursue further, instead relying on drones to search for the enemy. However, there was a lot of large debris in the area which compromised the infrared penetration of the drones. Still, the artillery at the power plant fired several times at suspected sniper positions.

By then, the covert strike team had already taken a boat, and long after they had departed, the helicopters deployed at the power plant arrived at the scene to conduct a thorough search of the surrounding area.

At four in the morning, the two howitzers deployed at the power plant bombarded the Survivors Alliance Headquarters. Small landing craft began patrolling the southwestern and southern rivers of The Day After Tomorrow River. They identified three suspicious persons by the roadside and immediately opened fire, killing them.

Shana, informed of the above by Baldy, analyzed during a breakfast meeting that whether it was the bombardment of the building or the attacks on survivors, both stemmed from East Base’s retaliation. What made everyone curious was how Little Overlord would handle the current situation. Merely yielding would certainly cause him to lose his seat as the leader, but facing artillery, helicopters, landing ships, and fully armed soldiers, what could he do to fight back?

Little Overlord’s counterattack came swiftly. At noon the next day, the food at the Third Hospital Base was poisoned. By the afternoon, more than 30% of the soldiers at Third Hospital Base had high fevers. Zombies appeared by evening. As the head of the Third Hospital Base had concealed the true condition, it fell into chaos that night. Soldiers fought zombies and each other, and those about to turn into zombies lashed out, shooting everywhere in anger. The nearby refugee camp was affected, fortunately, they lived in modern apartments with sturdy doors and windows.

On the third day, more than a hundred soldiers landed, and four armored vehicles were brought in to secure the Third Hospital Base. By evening, Little Overlord received a secret report. At ten o’clock that night, the East Base assault team drove armored vehicles into Little Overlord’s heartland in South City and launched a raid on a building purportedly harboring Little Overlord. During the operation, East Base’s two helicopters airlifted two squads of soldiers to the rooftop of the building.

Little Overlord’s strike force used their familiarity with the terrain to concentrate their attack on the four armored vehicles and engaged East Base in a two-hour firefight using traps inside the building. During this time, the Alliance captured one armored vehicle and destroyed another.

As the battle stalemated, Maya piloted an armed helicopter and bombed the Third Hospital with seven rockets and also fired an air-to-air missile, destroying an East Base helicopter transporting the wounded. Eight soldiers from the Railway Bridge Base divided into two groups, stormed into the Third Hospital, killed four soldiers, and quickly withdrew.

Soldiers from the Power Plant Base received orders to drive Humvees to rescue those trapped in the building, but they encountered an ambush and suffered heavy casualties and injuries.
