22. Two future leaders of the Soviet Union
22. Two future leaders of the Soviet Union
Rochester's heartstrings were gently plucked, and his thoughts were involuntarily pulled back to the argument that afternoon.
In the temporary command consisting of five company commanders, he was the only one who objected to the charge tactic. In fact, Rochester was not angry; he did not offer any useful strategies at the time, he simply objected.
The apology came somewhat suddenly, leaving Rochester a little bewildered.
Looking at the company commander's stammering manner.
"It's alright, it's all minor issues. The post-battle debriefing was precisely to prevent such problems. Besides, maybe the enemy cavalry was scared away by your charge, which created an opportunity for us."
Besides, I didn't offer any insightful strategies at the time; I was just focused on opposing them.
Several company commanders around him also showed signs of shame, seemingly about to speak. To cut off the awkward atmosphere that was about to spread, Rochester preemptively interrupted, "If you really want to apologize, it's not too late after we win the battle." He waved his hand, his gaze sweeping over everyone, "Everyone's initial intention was to win, we all ended up in the same place, and everyone makes mistakes."
After saying that, he turned and walked out.
Just as I was about to step out the door, a voice pierced through the twilight and caught up with me.
"Comrade Rochester, my name is Andrei Ivanovich Yeremenko. Don't forget me when you get promoted. Bring me under your command, and I'll be your company commander!"
Andrei...Ivanovich...Yeremenko!
Andrei Ivanovich Yeremenko?!
The name struck Rochester like a thunderbolt.
Rochester turned sharply to look at the company commander—he did look somewhat like him...?
That young yet resolute face gradually overlapped with the photograph in my memory that was comparable to that of Hoonjong.
It's him.
A future Field Marshal, a Hero of the Soviet Union, and one of the most influential army commanders at the end of World War II. A legendary figure born into a peasant family in Kharkiv Province, ultimately buried at the foot of the Kremlin wall in Red Square.
Consider the other person's appearance and what they say.
Rochester was quite surprised that this future Field Marshal, Soviet hero, and one of the commanders of the ten Soviet fronts at the end of World War II was standing right in front of him.
It's no wonder Rochester didn't think of this at first; mainly because most of the future senior generals are in the cavalry—he didn't think of it at the moment.
Yeremenko served on the southwestern front and the Romanian front during the Civil War.
The name may not sound familiar, but you only need to know that his official rank was at the same level as Chuikov's.
When he left, he had received five Iron Medals, one Order of the October Revolution, four Orders of the Red Banner, three Orders of Suvorov, First Class, one Order of Kutuzov, First Class, numerous medals and foreign medals, and one honorary weapon.
Meanwhile, the other company commanders also announced their names, and one name in particular caught Rochester's attention—Vasily Konstantinovich Blücher.
Holy crap, this tiny command post actually houses two of the Soviet Union's future superpowers!
Blücher was also a rather legendary figure. Born into a poor peasant family, he started out as an ordinary fitter and later worked in a factory.
A legendary hero who rose through the ranks during the Civil War, he was awarded the first Order of the Red Banner in the Soviet Union. During the Civil War, he commanded troops to crush the offensives of White Army forces led by Kolchak, and was known for his tenacious defense and counterattacks.
He was wounded eighteen times and was a true tough general who rose through the ranks.
He later became one of the first five marshals of the Soviet Union.
It even has some connection with the University of Tokyo.
He once used the pseudonym "General Galen" to serve as a military advisor to the Whampoa Military Academy and guided the Northern Expedition.
This delighted Rochester.
This means that he has already made the acquaintance of two people who successfully survived the Great Purge, and they are two very powerful individuals.
He turned around, his gaze fixed intently on the group, and solemnly declared, "It's a deal; you must come to my unit!"
"It's a deal!"
These two people are both very successful in the future, I must accept them as friends, they will be my best friends in the future!

With a satisfied smile, Rochester strode back to camp.
My thoughts quickly returned to the mission.
He then gathered everyone together, issued the mission, and explained the tactics—tactics that only Rochester's troops could execute.
This tactic required radio, but Rochester's troops had something even better than radio: his two units did not need any visual or auditory signals in the traditional sense, nor did they need messengers to relay signals back and forth.
Simply place the two teams of players into two separate teams, and players can communicate with each other in the chat box without any delay.
This means that his two units do not need messengers to risk their lives to travel through the area, nor do they need visual or auditory signals to reveal their location.
Most of the soldiers present understood Rochester's tactics; for them, this mission simply required following the instructions of the political instructor.
Guo Ruhe is mainly responsible for information transmission for the "Righteous Army," while Qitu Ge, who is currently second on the player leaderboard, has become the political instructor for the "Benevolent Army."
Based on this, most of the new recruits were temporarily assigned to the player teams to increase firepower density. Although this organization was slightly bloated for reconnaissance missions, it was a good opportunity to train the troops.
"Our mission is reconnaissance, to be the eyes of the main force, to warn of threats in advance," Rochester's voice echoed through the camp. "When encountering the enemy, no one is allowed to fire the first shot without being detected. Concealment is the first ironclad rule of this operation. But rest assured, one unit will advance while another provides cover; this is to ensure more people return alive. Even if we are discovered, we have the capability to escape unscathed!"
Finally, Rochester's gaze swept over each young, taut face, and his voice suddenly rose:
"Everyone, do you understand?"
"clear!"
"Set off!"
The quest also appeared in front of the players.
