Chapter 64 Shelter
Chapter 64 Shelter
Regarding the orc laborers' "disloyal and unjust" behavior, Lei Chi thought...very good!
He said, "Keep up the good work and keep going!"
"Um?"
The orc laborer froze, scratching his head. A strange message appeared above his head: "Loyalty +5!"
"This can increase loyalty?" Lei Chi thought to himself, finding it strange. He then ignored the orc laborers and went with the Slime King to chase after the Golden Bull.
The Slime King has now reached LV8, with 8000 HP, 80 attack power, and a skill to summon minions. In a one-on-one fight, even a level 30 player is no match for him, but unfortunately, his movement speed is too slow.
The deputy leader of the thug group ran away quickly. After the Slime King blasted him with two small fireballs, he escaped to the camp square.
"Oh no! Oh no! Thunder Pool has appeared, and it's attacking with King Slime!"
He shouted it out.
This shout immediately drew the attention of all the players from the thug gang in the camp square.
At this time, Chen Zhigao, Niu Delong, and Wang Daochang were eating rice, while the others were putting up big-character posters and splashing paint.
They saw a slime almost as big as a rhinoceros enter the camp square through a path, followed by a player, who was clearly Lei Chi.
"King Slime?"
"Finally online! Let's get him!"
"Kid, are you scared?"
"Hahahaha, Lei Chi, I told you I'd get my revenge! Your Jingyang Ridge has been cracked by us!"
The players quickly gathered together, shouting and yelling, each looking extremely fierce.
King Slime roared and summoned eight minions, who immediately engaged in battle.
Lei Chi followed behind, showing no fear whatsoever. He glanced at Wang Daochang and the others and said, "Splashing paint, scribbling everywhere, low-down tricks, a bunch of trash. Grandpa's here, which grandson dares to step forward and face death?"
"I dare! Ugh!"
"Holy crap, you dare to be so arrogant?"
"Let's all go and throw paint on him!"
When Lei Chi saw several players carrying paint buckets approaching, as if they were about to splash paint on him, he quickly took out eggs and, taking the initiative, smashed more than a dozen eggs out in one go. Whoever ran first got hit, and Niu Delong and Chen Zhigao were both hit, their faces covered in egg white and yolk.
Eggs aren't very powerful offensively, but they're extremely insulting; the players in the thug gang have never seen one before.
"What is that? A hidden weapon?"
"Is it poisonous?!"
"Throwing eggs? That's more like our method!"
Enraged by the eggs, the players charged towards the Thunder Pool like madmen, but before they could reach it, their bodies glowed with white light.
When the time for looting was up, they quickly teleported away.
If the fight were to continue, Lei Chi would most likely be killed, but one or two of the thugs would probably also be killed, since the Slime King is not weak in combat either.
Lei Chi didn't care that his camp had been turned into a mess again. Wasn't this just giving SpongeBob a chance to gain experience?
"Ding! Your secret camp has been maliciously invaded by players. Losses reported: 30 lunch boxes lost, 40 drinks lost, 16 gold coins stolen, 2 laying hens killed, 20 human militia killed, experience points lost, awaiting respawn!"
"Ding, claim calculation in progress..."
"Ding! Your deposit is 100 gold coins, and your camp defense index is 266. After calculation, you will be compensated with a claim chest worth 698 gold coins. Would you like to claim it?"
"extract!"
"Ding! One insurance policy ensures the safety of the city. No fear of invasion, no worries about reconstruction. You have opened the claim treasure chest and obtained camp reconstruction materials: one Tier 1 Beast Tower construction blueprint, 100 gold coins, two laying hens, and one [Shelter Construction Blueprint]."
"A shelter?"
Lei Chi took out a scroll from the compensation treasure chest, and with a glance, he learned its attribute information.
Sigrún has taught at the Iceland University of the Arts as a part-time lecturer since and was Dean of the Department of Fine Art from -. In – she held a research position at Reykjavík Art Museum focusing on the role of women in Icelandic art. She studied fine art at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts and at Pratt Institute, New York, and holds BA and MA degrees in art history and philosophy from the University of Iceland. Sigrún lives and works in Iceland.
Shelter Building Blueprint: A bound item. Using it will open up space in the player's secret camp to build a shelter. A shelter is a special building that allows players, camp creatures, and others to take refuge when the player's camp is invaded. Units entering the shelter are in a "sheltered" state, cannot be locked onto or attacked, but lose their combat ability. Each shelter can shelter up to ten units.
Note 1: The shelter has 20,000 durability points, a fixed 75% damage reduction, and can be destroyed by violence. Once the shelter is destroyed, the units hiding inside will lose their shelter status.
Note 2: Only one shelter may be built in each secret camp.
Note 3: Shelter can be rebuilt after being violently destroyed or damaged. Rebuilding requires 1,000 gold coins.
Note 4: After unlocking certain tower defense technologies, the shelter can be upgraded to [The Last Shelter], [The Sacred Shelter], [The Great Shelter], etc. Upgrading the shelter will grant more powerful abilities; please explore on your own to find out more.
"This shelter should still be quite useful."
Lei Chi immediately used the scroll in his hand, and quickly, a small temple-like building appeared next to the gold mine, which was the shelter.
Unlike buildings such as the city defense center, gold mine, and trading hall, the shelter has durability and can be destroyed. Moreover, its durability is not very high, only 20,000.
The 20,000 durability points seem okay for now, but if a large group of players rushes into the camp square, it could very well be destroyed within ten minutes.
Lei Chi entered the shelter, which was completely empty, but it was quite spacious. As for the shelter's main door, it was rather high-tech, an automatic sensor metal gate that could rise or fall automatically from the ground.
"Having a shelter is always a good thing!"
Lei Chi pondered silently, feeling that the compensation the system had given him this time was acceptable!
Meanwhile, in the thugs' gang hall, Chen Zhigao, Wang Daochang, and others were feeling quite frustrated.
"Looks like my intrusion failed; that dangerous place seems to be thriving!"
"Damn it, he dared to throw eggs at me! I won't be satisfied until I've covered him in paint!"
"That Slime King is still alive, and he's even leveled up to 8! Hehe, next time we invade, we'll kill that Slime King and see how he cries then!"
"Small players shouldn't be underestimated..."
After some discussion, the group devised a plan. Chen Zhigao and Niu Delong would continue to accompany the group on the next invasion, while all members of Group Seven would be mobilized. Their goal was to at least kill Lei Chi once and take down his Slime King as well.
These thugs are paid to do things, and they still value reputation and credibility. After all, in this line of work, if you don't have a reputation and credibility, you won't get any business.
A moment later, Lei Chi arrived at the [War Corridor].
The time for the Azure Dragon to be born is fast approaching, and he waits beside the giant azure egg, eager to witness the birth of his camp's first Tier 3 Beast Tower.
As time passed, suddenly, cracks appeared on the shell of the giant blue egg. Crackling sounds filled the cracks, which continued to spread, gradually casting blue light from the cracks.
Two minutes later, the entire eggshell shattered, revealing a "giant snake" with a white belly and a green back. Calling it a giant snake was no longer appropriate, as it had a green mane around its neck, a square head with a wide mouth, eyes like copper bells, a single sharp horn growing from the center of its forehead, and two claws with sharp nails. It was clearly a Azure Dragon.
This azure dragon was only as thick as an adult's calf, and looked very young. It hovered off the ground in a coiled position with its tail pointing downwards and its head held high. If its body were straightened, it would probably only be four or five meters long at most!
