Chapter 67 First Acquaintance
Chapter 67 First Acquaintance
The two were staring at each other, their eyes locked, when a figure emerged from behind the flowerbed.
"Sorry, Su! I just couldn't hold it in any longer and had to go to the bathroom!"
A teaching assistant in work clothes rushed over, pulling up his belt, muttering, "I was only gone for a short while, nothing bad happened, right?"
He raised his head as he spoke.
The first thing you see are two ornamental trees that have been broken in half, with fallen leaves scattered all over the ground.
A horrifying crater has appeared in the stone wall outside the office building, with cracks spreading out like a spider web, and broken brick fragments still falling from the edges.
Finally, the teaching assistant saw Su Cheng sitting in the pile of broken bricks, covered in dust, and Liang Jiu standing not far away.
He stopped pulling up his pants, glanced back in the direction of the toilet, and wondered how many minutes he had been gone. Had he mixed up the time in the divine realm and the time in the real world again?
Or is it that someone else is bringing their relatives into this world?
"It was my fault." Su Cheng stood up from the pile of rubble and dusted off his clothes.
He made no mention of how he had just been on all fours, biting people with his fangs, and simply bowed to the dumbfounded teaching assistant and Liang Jiu.
"I'm so sorry I couldn't control myself from feeding you earlier. I'll compensate you for the loss. Hope I didn't scare you?"
His tone was gentle and his manners impeccable; he seemed like a gentleman, a stark contrast to the out-of-control monster from before.
Although it was known beforehand that qualified individuals like them, who possessed divine realms, would inevitably develop some psychological issues after spending a long time in those strange and unusual races, with personality splits and depression being relatively mild symptoms.
But the change was so drastic that it still bothered him somewhat, especially since the person in front of him was probably the strongest opponent among his peers in Dragon City.
"As long as you weren't hurt."
The guy in front of me took a solid kick infused with my extraordinary power, yet he's still full of energy, as if nothing happened. He's probably already at the level of a third-level god.
No wonder Sun Lang said that he could already accommodate second-level followers in his divine realm...
However, Su Cheng's divine transformation and subsequent transformation did look terrible. It was as if two forces were vying for control of his body, and the various beastly traits were repelling each other. It seemed like there were problems in the process of getting along with his subordinates.
How could a genius like him, who has no shortage of resources and guidance, make such a basic mistake? Why would he introduce another beast species when his destined companion is already a beast species?
I wonder if Su Cheng gleaned any information from that kick of his own.
The two tacitly avoided discussing the fight.
"I heard about you from Sun Lang, who was in the same class," Su Cheng explained, explaining why he recognized Liang Jiu.
Hearing that familiar name, Liang Jiu wasn't surprised. The Dragonblood Kobold Lord had indeed said he would reveal his information, but he hadn't expected the universally acknowledged genius Su Cheng to pay attention to him.
"He speaks highly of you, saying that you are a formidable opponent, even stronger than Chen Xueqi."
"Who?" Liang Jiu raised an eyebrow, somewhat surprised. "Another expert?"
Su Cheng was taken aback for a moment, then chuckled, "That's right, it's normal that you don't recognize him."
He scrutinized Liang Jiu for a long time before speaking: "To be honest, before I met you in person, I always thought you were the same as the rumors said, an uncommunicative freak."
Having only recently awakened his divine realm, he went off to wage a divine war against humans. He spends most of his time developing his retinue within the divine realm, rarely appearing in the mortal world.
Halfway through his sentence, Su Cheng found it somewhat amusing: "I didn't expect to meet the real person today... and she actually looks so... normal?"
Liang Jiu was speechless upon hearing this assessment.
What lingered in his mind was the image of the person in front of him a few minutes earlier, on all fours, with a twisted appearance of a wolf's body and a dragon's head, baring his teeth at him.
A dog barked at a Chihuahua by the school flowerbed, and then, out of control, mutated into a chimera-like monster.
Who is the real freak?
But Su Cheng was unaware of what the other person was thinking. He continued, "I have fought in divine wars with all the gods I know."
"The dragon-blooded kobolds that Sun Lang cultivated do have their merits. He himself is also very decisive in cultivating people in the Divine Realm. Even he finds them troublesome, so they must be extraordinary and outstanding among men."
"I'm really looking forward to this big test, to a battle of wits between you and me," Su Cheng said frankly. "We'll see who's the best on the field then."
Just as Liang Jiu was about to reply, a familiar mechanical voice suddenly rang in his ears.
(≧口≦)O
"You big idiot! Come back now! Xin Zang's weapon is almost finished, or we'll miss the most crucial blessing step!"
Jane's voice chattered in my mind, very urgently.
Hearing the calls of his family,
Liang Jiu naturally lost interest in continuing the conversation. He wasn't particularly enthusiastic about small talk anyway, so he went along with it and ended the topic.
"Then I'll see you in the big test. I also hope you can resolve the problems in the Divine Realm. I have some personal matters to attend to, so I'll take my leave now."
After giving a few perfunctory replies, Liang Jiu turned around and quickly left the office building area.
Only after his figure disappeared around the corner did the previously ignored teaching assistant approach him.
"Su, shall we continue with today's adaptive activities? I noticed you weren't quite right earlier. I suggest you take it easy for a few days; haste makes waste," the teaching assistant reminded Su Cheng with concern.
But Su Cheng's expression was serious. He didn't answer the teaching assistant's question, but instead asked, "Teacher, did you hear anything just now?"
The teaching assistant was completely bewildered: "A noise? What noise came from? Did you lose control of your feedback and hallucinate? Quickly open your divine domain so I can check you out. The midterm exam is just around the corner, don't ruin your health."
A bead of cold sweat slid down Su Cheng's forehead.
He was absolutely certain that it wasn't a hallucination.
With his extraordinary sensory talent, just before Liang Jiu turned to leave, he clearly sensed a divine force conveying a certain message beside Liang Jiu.
It's the family members communicating with the gods across realms!
Regardless of the difficulty of transmitting information across the barrier between the mortal realm and the divine realm, the mere fact that he could completely deceive his teaching assistant, who genuinely possessed the strength of a third-level god, was already chilling enough. If it weren't for his exceptional talent, he probably would have been kept in the dark as well.
Although it is unknown whether such communication is an isolated case or a common ability, it indicates that his development of the divine realm far surpasses that of ordinary people.
"What a formidable opponent, Liang Jiu. You also have your secrets."
Su Cheng stood there, muttering to himself.
A hint of fervor crept onto his face.
"Kill the enemy to replenish your strength, and you will become as strong as steel after a hundred battles. I really hope you will bring me a crushing defeat, so that the pressure of natural selection will be even greater."
